Welcome to BēKin! We're here to assist both guests and hosts in making the most of our rental platform. Below you'll find answers to some common questions and resources for further help.


For Guests


How to Book a Rental

  • Search for a Property: Use our search tool to find available properties in Fire Island Pines. You can filter by dates, property type, amenities, and more.
  • View Property Details: Click on a property listing to see detailed information, photos, and reviews.
  • Check Availability: Enter your desired dates to check if the property is available.
  • Book Your Stay: Click the "Book Now" button and follow the prompts to complete your reservation. You'll receive a confirmation email once your booking is finalized.


Managing Your Booking

  • View Your Bookings: Log in to your account and go to the "My Trips" section to see your upcoming and past bookings.
  • Cancel or Modify Your Booking: If you need to change or cancel your reservation, go to "My Trips" and select the booking you want to modify. Note that cancellation policies vary by property.
  • Contact the Host: Use the messaging feature in your account to communicate directly with the host if you have any questions or special requests.


Payment and Refunds

  • Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards and other secure payment options.
  • Refunds: Refunds are processed according to the cancellation policy of the property. Please review the specific policy for your booking.


For Hosts


How to List Your Property


  1. Create an Account: Sign up for a host account if you don't already have one.
  2. List Your Property: Click the "List Your Property" button and fill in the required details, including photos, description, amenities, and availability.
  3. Set Your Rates: Specify your rental rates, including seasonal pricing if applicable.
  4. Publish Your Listing: Once your listing is complete, click "Publish." Your property will then be available for guests to book.


Managing Your Property

  • Edit Your Listing: Log in to your account and go to the "My Listings" section to update your property details, photos, and availability.
  • Manage Bookings: View and manage your bookings in the "Bookings" section. You can see upcoming reservations, accept or decline booking requests, and communicate with guests.
  • Review Payments: Check your earnings and payment status in the "Payments" section of your account.


Hosting Tips

  • Communication: Respond promptly to guest inquiries and booking requests to ensure a positive experience.
  • House Rules: Clearly outline your house rules and expectations in your listing to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Ensure your property is clean and well-maintained before each guest arrives.
